The must-attend Internet event was hosted for the first time in New Caledonia. The Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), an international organization, coordinates Internet players in the Asia-Pacific region. The themes of this 46th edition were interconnectivity and network security in the Pacific. Five days of technical workshops and three days of plenary conferences enabled 300 participants from 34 countries to discuss these topics.
As a member of APNIC since 1999, the Office regularly participates in forums organised with the aim of strengthening its role as a driving force in the digital world in the Pacific region; meeting the major international players in the sector; and internally enabling its technicians and engineers to develop their skills through high-level training. Its involvement in this organization since 2014 has earned it the right to host this international event this year.
